A Nightmare about Holes

"I had a nightmare.
Of things that live in holes.
In holes that go nowhere.
Holes in a fence.
Holes in paper.
Things that scream names
that are not theirs.
Things that try to lure you
into looking them in the
eye.
I'm glad I woke up
before their screaming
became too loud."

Sometimes I have nightmares. And sometimes I write them down right after I wake up because of them.

Dead Sparrows

Their legs sticking out of the ground, like crosses on a cemetery, like a dead forest.
Gone.

House sparrows are becoming an endangered specie. It's hard to believe I know. But if sparrows, wich are probably one of the most "human attached" birds (besides pigeons), are dissapearing... that should make us think, right?
What are we doing to our own enviroment, cities, that they no longer support other forms of life?
I think, in any case, that just makes us less human.

Nature

This is something inspired by a Paid Pilots song. It's called Nature and at some point it says:
"This will heal when we are robots". We already know that we are the ones on the really losing side in this battle, not nature. We should start looking for a white flag and stop acting like the war is already won.

Fresh Water

I think that, of all the enviromental issues, the one that really makes me worry is the lack of fresh water. Somehow that one seems (to me) the hardest one to fight... and the one that could threaten human life more.

The Recession of Cool People and Other Things that Worry Me

This came up in a chat with this very clever talented guy (it's his idea).
I think it would be a funny idea for a book. We're running out of cool people. (We know who we are)

On the Way to London

I took this picture on the way to London a couple of weeks ago.
It was a really cool, really cold (really, really cold) trip.
Really.

Ahleuchatistas

They blew my mind. They do the craziest stuff.
Check them out at their website and at MySpace. The song "I don't remember falling asleep" is beautiful, if you're not into their more hectic side.

Sloth Time

Sloths seem to have all the time in the universe. I know it is not really like that. But it really looks like they mind and think every movement. Whatever they do, they do it thoroughly.
We should do that, once in a while... live in sloth time.

Just Listen

Maybe the reason why a lot of people can't hear sick nature's cries for help is that they're sick too.
Quoting someone: "We can barely see nature from natural"

Have You Found?

These are some of the lyrics of a Bloc Party song called On. The song is actually about drugs. BUT I really like this part of the song.
And I think that we should all try to find that person that makes us hopeful and makes our tongue loose. That person to whom we can say everything, no matter what and no matter how dark. That person that makes our insides stop oozing. That person that makes us stutter free.

Just an Image, a Thought

Cities Try to Trick You

They lure you in. Cities can be fascinating, flashy... they move so fast you just stare and let things happen. They can trick you into thinking you are more, just by becoming part of them.
But deep down they're just tar, concrete and sweat. Melting and sinking. Rotting everything around them.

Things to Value (really, really value):

to feel like this:

The text is part of a Bloc Party song called Sunday.
