People Can Be Mean

But I refuse to let bad people win. I still believe that human beings are basically good. I choose to believe that. Ok, so I won't be so naive anymore (yeah, someone has been really mean to me). But I still think that most people have some good in them.

Then, some people just choose to be bad and are basically rotten inside.

That said, I'm in the mood for beautiful, (a song basically based on this, which is even better, and I know, I know... we've all heard it a million times... but that doesn't make it any less good).

The Right One

I think I'm on the right one.
Two things I learned today:
- My pulse is like that of a 90 year old when I'm nervous (ok, I kind of knew that already).
- I shouldn't try drawing while seating in a moving car. (it only makes my pulse worse and it gives me motion sickness).

Old Things

My 89 years old grandma has this old Singer sewing machine. She inherited it from her mother. This thing is easily over a hundred years old. She still uses it. And she only had to repair it once in all the time she's had it.

Food for thought. She might me doing more for the enviroment by still using this machine that works with no electricity, than a lot of prius-driving "enviromentalists".

Strength

Find the strength to fight back.
It's there.
Somewhere.

Sad Times

"I wish I didn't need to breathe."

It's really sad to see people being "let go", when they don't want to go at all.
I feel like I'm looking for a job in the worst moment possible. And probably I am.
But hey, chin up, uh?

What If...

Let's not think about the worse posibilities.
Those thoughts never come from somewhere good.

Hey

First Page of a New Notebook

Just that.
But it's always a nice feeling.

There's Not Such Thing as "No Repercussions"

It's a Really Silly Thing to Say

I really think that if you really, really love someone... and you love them the right way, that should be "freeing" love. If it's the way it should be, "setting them free" is not even an option. Not that it won't hurt... but there's nothing you can do about it.
Real love is stupid maybe.
Real love doesn't demand to be loved back.

It can just hope to be loved back.

Words

Words that you can not say can be a terrible burden.
It feels like you can only speak them to your pen and, somehow, they never reach the paper or others' ears. Like they choke you while you try to say them out loud.

So it's a beautiful thing when someone can get her words out:

Sometimes I write Sometimes I am

A Nightmare about Holes

"I had a nightmare.
Of things that live in holes.
In holes that go nowhere.
Holes in a fence.
Holes in paper.
Things that scream names
that are not theirs.
Things that try to lure you
into looking them in the
eye.
I'm glad I woke up
before their screaming
became too loud."

Sometimes I have nightmares. And sometimes I write them down right after I wake up because of them.

Dead Sparrows

Their legs sticking out of the ground, like crosses on a cemetery, like a dead forest.
Gone.

House sparrows are becoming an endangered specie. It's hard to believe I know. But if sparrows, wich are probably one of the most "human attached" birds (besides pigeons), are dissapearing... that should make us think, right?
What are we doing to our own enviroment, cities, that they no longer support other forms of life?
I think, in any case, that just makes us less human.

Nature

This is something inspired by a Paid Pilots song. It's called Nature and at some point it says:
"This will heal when we are robots". We already know that we are the ones on the really losing side in this battle, not nature. We should start looking for a white flag and stop acting like the war is already won.

Fresh Water

I think that, of all the enviromental issues, the one that really makes me worry is the lack of fresh water. Somehow that one seems (to me) the hardest one to fight... and the one that could threaten human life more.

The Recession of Cool People and Other Things that Worry Me

This came up in a chat with this very clever talented guy (it's his idea).
I think it would be a funny idea for a book. We're running out of cool people. (We know who we are)

On the Way to London

I took this picture on the way to London a couple of weeks ago.
It was a really cool, really cold (really, really cold) trip.
Really.
